Tamara Jo Richter (Tammy) Obituary

Kennewick, WA - Tamara Jo Richter, or Tamara Jo Price, passed away on April 2, 2025, after fighting metastatic bone cancer. Tammy spent the entirety of her life in Pendleton, OR. However, in the past 3 months, she was cared for by her children in Kennewick, WA, where she spent the remaining months cherishing what time she had left with her friends, family and grandchildren.

Tammy was born March 28, 1962, in Pendleton, OR, at St. Anthony's Hospital, the daughter of James Dallas Price and Mary Jo (Roden) Price. She grew up with three siblings, her older sister Barbara Collins, and younger siblings Katherine Price and Joseph Price. She graduated Pendleton High School in 1980. Shortly after, she worked one of her first jobs at the telephone company in Pendleton. Shortly after, she followed her true passion, caring for the children in her community. She owned and operated a family daycare from her home for 40 years. Tammy's day care filled her life with so much joy and happiness, however, she still had more to give. She also started volunteering at the Peace Lutheran Church as well as the Pendleton Warming Station where she would make meals for the houseless and help provide resources to those in need.

Preceding Tammy in death are her father James Dallas Price and her spouse and love of her life, Matthew Ellis Richter. They married on June 15, 1985, and lived 28 wonderful years together. Tammy is survived by her mother Mary Jo Price, and her children James (Sarah) Richter, Jenna (Brian) Camp, and Amy Jo (Eric) Jones. Her memory will also be cherished by her seven grandchildren, Madeleine, Jameson, Liliana, Mattox, Theo, Leo, and Reeve.

There will be a service and Celebration of Life for Tammy at Peace Lutheran Church on April 25, 2025, at 10:00am.
