Baker City, Oregon - Rod Schneider, born February 19th, 1932 in Ceylon Minnesota, made it 93 years before passing away June 19th, 2025 at his home in Baker City, Oregon.

After studying in Wyoming, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War.

Industrious and intelligent, he was a sand and gravel hauler, salvager, logger, truck driver, and a stock market player. Among many other jobs, one of his favorite was hauling travel trailers from the manufacturer to the dealer with his dodge. He cut firewood, collected scrap metal, and worked at the landfill into his late 80s.

Beneath his steadfast and often immoveable exterior, he loved God first, and had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs and horses. He was an avid reader, and had a romantic center. He also enjoyed a good prank, game, or adventure.

While his work took him through most of the contiguous United States, Mexico, the Philippines, and Central America, the mountains, forests and valleys of Eastern Oregon is where he chose to lay down roots.

His strong yet quiet presence will be greatly missed by countless family members and friends. He left behind two sisters, Mary and Vicki, his beloved wife Ann, and six children.
