LaGrande, Oregon - Elmer Boyd Bennett, 67, of La Grande, OR passed away on Tuesday, May 20,2025 at his home in La Grande, OR. A Celebration of Life will be held in Long Creek, OR at a later time.

Elmer was born on September 17, 1957 in Lebanon, Oregon to Paul and Roberta (Rieger) Bennett. He resided in Long Creek, OR, Castle Rock, WA and La Grande, OR. He married his one true love, Janice Calhoun on April 16, 2005 in Depoe Bay, OR.

Elmer was a log truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, camping, football, watching NASCAR Racing, loved world history and watching war movies. He also was a high school football coach. Elmer was a member of the LaGrande Calvary Chapel.

Elmer is survived by his wife, Janice of La Grande, OR; children, Ryan Bennett (Heather) of Fossil, OR, Andrew Bennett of Irrigon, OR, Josh Bennett (Nicole) of Sweet Home, OR, Miranda Carlin (Chris) of Kimberly, OR, Cody Barton (Marci) of Sand Point, ID, Scooter Barton (Frankie) of La Grande, OR; Sisters, Gail Mennenga of McMinnville, OR, Dixie Shartner (Craig) of Prineville, OR; Brother, Jack Bennett (Judy) of Dayton, OR; 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Roberta Bennett.
