Goodyear, Arizona - Bonnie M. Clugston passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in Goodyear, AZ at the age of 81. Bonnie was born on December 28, 1944, in Portland, Oregon to Clyde & Jean Heater. She was the 4th of 5 Children. Larry Heater (Karen), the oldest, has passed. Judy Schoeder (Gordon), has passed. Mary Wadds (Frank), of Australia. Bonnie (Tom) & Don Heater (Velvet) of Australia.

They moved to Creswell, Oregon when Bonnie was young, and they grew up there. Bonnie met Tom in High school and they were married while he was on leave from the Navy. They had 2 children, Brenda (Scott Weide) and Brian (Jodi Clugston).

Bonnie & Tom's dream was to buy a ranch. They searched all over and eventually found the one they wanted in Unity, Oregon. They worked hard to make their ranch work. They eventually purchased a neighboring ranch and were able to run more cows & raise more hay there. Bonnie & Tom both enjoyed ranch life. They worked hard to raise the best cows and the best hay. They continually improved their water system to utilize it the most.

Bonnie worked out of the home most of her life. She started out working in schools as a secretary and later moved to the forest service in Unity where she worked in timber sales and building OHV trails, which a lot of you still enjoy today.

It was very important to Bonnie to give back to her community and she spent a lot of time writing grants for the forest service and the community. She got to know new neighbors and encouraged them to join activities in church and in town. Bonnie made everyone feel like they were her best friend.

When Tom died in 2000, life changed a lot for Bonnie. She sold the 2nd ½ of the ranch and sold her cows. She leased out her land. Bonnie was able to travel with her friends and her brother from Australia. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Bonnie loved her children, but she loved her grandchildren so much more. She will be missed by her grandchildren Christopher (Nicole), Danielle (Gage), Cody, Cooper (Regan), Travis, Jax. And her great granddaughter Tatum, and many nieces & nephews.

Bonnie will live on in our memory. We would love to hear your memories of how she touched your life.

We celebrated Bonnie's life in Unity, Oregon on June 14, 2025. In lieu of flowers her family asks that you give to Alzheimer's Association near you.
